Refund and Returns Policy

CAR BUY WORLD — REFUNDS & RETURNS POLICY
Effective: 17 February 2026
 
This policy governs refunds, returns, and cancellations for commercial vehicle transactions conducted with CAR BUY WORLD (“we,” “us,” or “our”) via carbuy.world or direct engagement (e.g., email to sales@carbuy.world). As a B2B export entity serving dealers, distributors, fleet operators, and government agencies, our terms reflect international trade standards, OEM protocols, and Incoterms® 2020.
 

 

1. General Principle

All vehicle transactions are final upon factory allocation and payment confirmation, unless expressly stated otherwise in the signed Proforma Invoice. CAR BUY WORLD does not operate as a retail seller; therefore, standard consumer return rights do not apply. Returns or refunds are granted only under specific contractual, compliance, or quality-failure conditions outlined below.
 

 

2. Cancellation Before Factory Allocation

If a Client cancels an order before unit allocation at the OEM factory:
  • Full refund of deposit/payment is issued within 15 business days
  • Cancellation must be submitted in writing to sales@carbuy.world with Proforma Invoice reference
  • No penalty applies if cancellation occurs within 48 hours of Proforma signing
 
Note: “Factory allocation” is confirmed when the OEM issues a VIN reservation or production slot assignment.
 

 

3. Cancellation After Factory Allocation

Once units are allocated at the factory:
  • No cancellations or refunds are permitted, except under Section 4 (Quality Failure) or Section 5 (Compliance Failure)
  • This aligns with OEM production commitments and Chinese export contract law
  • Clients may request order transfer to another entity (subject to OEM approval and documentation update fee of USD 250)
 

 

4. Returns for Quality Failure

Returns are accepted only if a material defect is verified by a third-party inspector (SGS, Bureau Veritas, or Client-nominated equivalent) prior to shipment:
  • Defect must render the vehicle non-operational or non-compliant with Proforma specifications
  • Inspection report must be submitted to sales@carbuy.world within 72 hours of inspection
  • If validated, CAR BUY WORLD will:
    • Replace defective units in next available allocation slot, or
    • Issue a full refund for affected units within 20 business days
     
  • No returns accepted after Bill of Lading issuance
 

 

5. Returns for Compliance Failure

If CAR BUY WORLD fails to deliver required export documentation (e.g., SONCAP, GCC, PVOC) causing customs rejection at destination port:
  • Client must provide official port authority rejection notice within 14 days of vessel arrival
  • Upon verification, we will:
    • Re-process documentation at no cost, or
    • Arrange return shipment to origin port (Client bears return freight), or
    • Issue refund for affected units minus documented logistics costs
     
  • Refund processed within 25 business days of resolution
 

 

6. Refund Processing

  • All refunds are issued to the original payment method (bank wire or LC reimbursement)
  • Processing time: 15–25 business days from approval
  • Refunds exclude:
    • Bank transfer fees
    • Third-party inspection costs
    • Documentation amendment charges
     
  • Refunds are issued in USD only
 

 

7. Non-Returnable Items

The following are excluded from returns/refunds under any circumstance:
  • Custom-configured vehicles (e.g., RHD conversions, reinforced suspensions)
  • Units with >50 km odometer reading (indicating post-factory use)
  • Vehicles damaged during Client-arranged inland transport
  • Orders placed under “As-Is” or “Clearance” terms (explicitly marked in Proforma)
 

 

8. Dispute Resolution

  • All disputes are governed by Chinese law with jurisdiction in Shanghai International Arbitration Centre (SHIAC)
  • Parties agree to mandatory mediation before arbitration
  • Costs borne by initiating party unless otherwise ruled

  • Proforma Invoice number
  • Inspection report (if applicable)
  • Port rejection notice (if applicable)
  • Bank details for refund processing
 
We acknowledge receipt within 2 business hours and provide resolution timeline within 5 business days.
 

 

10. Policy Updates

This policy may be amended to reflect OEM changes, regulatory shifts, or trade practice updates. Material changes will be:
  • Notified via email to primary contact
  • Posted on carbuy.world/legal for 30 days
 
Clients are bound by the version in effect at time of Proforma signing.
